In 2019, the event collected dozens of Thanksgiving birds and hundreds of canned goods from Prime Social members and staff. The poker club teamed up with West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) to distribute the donations to Houstonians in need. Prime Social Poker Club is back. Houston’s biggest private poker club will reopen its doors on September 5 th after a four-month absence. Prime Social was the fastest growing poker club in the U.S. With 11,000 members when it was closed in a controversial raid by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Prime Social had 11,000 members and was the fastest growing private poker club in the country when it was unceremoniously closed. PrimeSocial was the fastest growing poker club in the U.S. with 11,000 members whenit was closed in a controversial raid by the Harris County District Attorney’sOffice. Both the criminal charges and a county nuisance lawsuit were dropped asthe club exposed corruption blamed for its retaliatory shutdown.
Whenthe club was shuttered more than 100 employees were at work in the 24 hour aday venue.
DistrictAttorney Kim Ogg was forced to dismiss the case after admitted multipleconflicts in her office. Ogg acted as news was about to break that her seniorwhite-collar crime advisor was also paid by Prime Social to work on anonexistent ordinance. Two poker clubs and a third that never opened all paidmoney in the scheme.
TheFBI is now investigating possible public corruption. Prime Social is workingwith federal investigators to get computer equipment seized in the raidreturned. District Attorney Kim Oggcontinues to hide key public records and has refused to tell voters what sheknew about the poker club shakedown and when she knew it.
“Welook forward to our 11,000 members coming back and bringing a bunch of friendswith them,” says Wayne Dolcefino, spokesman for Prime Social. “More than 100people lost their jobs in this ridiculous campaign of retaliation and Prime isconsidering all options to recover the damages. In the meantime, it is time toget back to the game.”
